The 33rd Hampton Classic Horse Show, the nationally renowned premier show jumping competition, returns to Bridgehampton, NY, August 24-31. One of the season's biggest social events, The Hampton Classic Horse Show is also the largest in the country with 1500 exhibitors and 40,000 spectators. The show, which began in the 1900s, attracts leading sponsors such as Hermes, Calvin Klein, Sotheby's, and Fidelity.
The featured attraction of the Hampton Classic once again will be the $200,000 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup Qualifier one of the most highly anticipated show-jumping events.
Prize money has been increased for Saturday's $30,000 Sotheby's International Realty Challenge and the horse show is initiating a $30,000 VOX Rider Challenge, sponsored by VOX Magazine, with the prize money being awarded to the top four riders in the horse show's Open Jumper division. Riders will have the chance to compete all week in the open jumper classes, with the top finish in each class, regardless of mount, being counted towards their final point totals. This $30,000 incentive should increase the excitement of these open jumper classes during the week, as every ride could potentially take a rider one step closer to winning the Challenge.
Highlights include the $25,000 Calvin Klein Jumping Derby which will be held at 8:00 AM on August 31 and the $200,000 FITI Grand Prix at 2:00 PM on August 31.
