Just recieved word that the first case of EP(Equine piroplasmosis )was just reported in FL so keep an eye out for ticks on ut horses for more info go to equisearch.com and click on the Jurga Report Blog
...also a study was recently done with 4 horses beginning training, 2 fed hay and minimal grain and 2 fed hay and sweet fed(mix of oats barley and molasses)and the horses who were fed sweet fed bucked and had very high enegry levels and were difficult to work with the other horses not being fed sweet feed were much easier to ride and had better tempers so if you are starting a youngster you may want to keep them off of sweet feed. =]]
